'Friends of the Park'

Since its inception in 2011, the local 'Friends of the Park' program has successfully funded the construction of new pickleball courts, the renovation of tennis and basketball courts, the creation of Greenway Trails, and the enhancement of Shelby Equestrian Trails. Currently, the 'Friends' are supporting the updates of the Boy Scout Cabin, along with ongoing renovations made possible by the Mimi Ward Starting Blocks Fundraiser, which will benefit our indoor pool that accommodates over 10 teams, including youth, high school, and Masters teams, as well as recreational and competitive swimmers. The next focus of the 'Friends' campaign will be on improving the much-loved adaptive playground, which serves as a focal point at the park's entrance.
