Give for Good Louisville has mobilized over 160,000 individuals to invest nearly $60 million in local organizations. On Thursday, September 12, community members across an 8-county region in Kentucky and Southern Indiana will come together to support hundreds of organizations by making a gift online at GiveForGoodLouisville.org.
Give for Good Louisville is a program of the Community Foundation of Louisville, a Louisville-based 501(c)(3) public charity.
When is Give for Good Louisville?
The 11th Annual Give for Good Louisville is Thursday, September 12, 2024, from Midnight - 11:59 p.m. ET.
Why should I give through Give for Good Louisville instead of giving directly to the organization?
Leverage Prizes - For organizations with smaller annual budgets, additional prize money can be a game-changer! Thanks to our generous prize partners, the prize pool energizes donors to give during Give for Good Louisville for a chance to have their donations randomly boosted by thousands of dollars.
Give easily - By partnering with the Mightycause technology platform, the Community Foundation provides a great user experience for donors and makes it easy to turn your annual gift into a monthly donation towards your favorite organization(s).
Stay connected to your favorite organizations and discover new ones - Each year, the Community Foundation hosts Give for Good Louisville to amplify and raise awareness for local organizations. Thanks to the extensive coverage by our media partners and individuals promoting the giving day online with the hashtag #GiveForGoodLou, our community can learn about and get connected to the important work being done every day by Kentuckiana organizations.
Invest in a community where everyone can prosper - Giving is contagious, and you can help bring the community together by encouraging your friends and family to give back during Give for Good Louisville.
What is GiveForGoodLouisville.org?
GiveForGoodLouisville.org is an easy-to-use online platform that allows users to search and discover local giving opportunities aligned with their passions, empowering them to take an active role in shaping the future of Kentucky and Southern Indiana communities. Anyone can donate, set up monthly donations, find volunteer opportunities, or fundraise for Kentuckiana organizations.
How does the Giving Day work?
Donors visit GiveForGoodLouisville.org and use the search function at the top of the main webpage to find organizations by cause category, geography, and more. They can look up a specific organization by name to make a donation, or if they’re unsure who to select, they can discover new organizations by the causes they love most.
Donors can also access the giving day site through a direct link sent to them by participating organizations via email or shared on social media.
Donors can give online beginning Monday, September 9, 2024, through Friday, September 13, at 1 p.m. ET. However, most donors give during the giving day on September 12 as their donations can be matched dollar for dollar by local match opportunities and unlock extra money from the prize pool for their favorite organizations.
What types of organizations are featured on GiveForGoodLouisville.org?
Each year, approximately 500-600 organizations serving Kentucky and Southern Indiana sign up to participate in Give for Good Louisville. The following types of organizations are qualified to participate:
What are the “Tier categories?”

What is the Give for Good Louisville prize pool?
The Give for Good Louisville prize pool consists of hundreds of thousands of dollars raised by the Community Foundation of Louisville in partnership with other Kentucky and Southern Indiana funders and companies to benefit participating organizations. The goals of the prize pool aim to motivate our community to donate during the giving day for a chance that their gifts may be randomly boosted by thousands of dollars, fund prizes for participating organizations to access throughout the giving day, and provide critical matching dollars that inspire donors to increase their giving.
To view the winners of this year's prizes, please visit the Prizes page, which will be updated throughout the giving day on September 12.
Please note: Some prizes, such as the P2P Powerhouse, Social Media Star, and proportionate match pools, are determined after the giving day, and the winners will be posted the week following Give for Good Louisville.
Prize winners are determined based on eligibility criteria such as the number of donors, donations, geography, and tier category (aka, size of the organization). Depending on the type of prize, those winners will be determined in one of the following ways:

Learn more about our work at cflouisville.org.
Does the Community Foundation of Louisville endorse each participating organization's mission and programs?
The Community Foundation of Louisville verifies the charitable status of every organization that participates in Give for Good Louisville but does not screen or select organizations based on their charitable purposes or missions. Eligibility is based on providing services in our area and an organization's current status as a recognized Section 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity. Therefore, approval of an organization's participation does not constitute an endorsement of the organization or its mission by the Community Foundation of Louisville or any of our partners.
Each organization’s page provides its mission but not detailed information on all of its programs. For additional research, each organization's page also includes a link to its website, providing more detailed information on its mission and use of funds.
I ran into a technical issue on the platform and need help. How do I contact Mightycause directly?
A Mightycause support team member is happy to help with questions about using the Give for Good Louisville website or direct you to the correct Community Foundation of Louisville team member.
The Mightycause support team is available year-round, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET.
What if my preferred organization is not listed on GiveForGoodLouisville.org?
It is up to the organizations whether or not they choose to participate. If you don't see your favorite organization listed, we encourage you to contact them directly to make sure they are aware of Give for Good Louisville. Organizations register to participate annually at GiveForGoodLouisville.org from June to August.
How will I be able to search for and donate to a participating organization?
Donors can search for an organization by name, tier category based on the organization's size, cause type, and location on the search page here.
Do I need to create an account with Mightycause to donate or fundraise?
For donating, no. You can complete your donation as a guest. However, we encourage you to create an account to easily access your donation history and receipts!
For fundraising, yes. Fundraisers will need to create an account in order to create an individual fundraising page. If a user visits an organization page on GiveForGoodLouisville.org without being logged in first and clicks the "Fundraise" button, the first screen they are taken to is a log-in/sign-up screen. In order to have a fundraising page, it needs to be linked to a user account in the Mightycause platform.
Accessing Receipts
You will be emailed a receipt for each donation you make, but Mightycause also stores printer-friendly receipts for each donation in your user account. To find a receipt for a past donation, log into your user account and click on your name in the upper right corner. A dropdown menu will appear. Select "Donation history" to be taken to the donation history portion of your user account.
If you select "Donation history" from the dropdown menu, you will automatically be taken to your "Donation History" tab within your user account. If you have created recurring monthly donations you will see a "Recurring Donations" tab as well. Be sure you are on the “Donation History” tab in order to view your donation history.
To the right of each donation is a menu icon (the three dots). Click here to then select "Resend receipt." Once you click on it, you can resend your receipt to your email.
Accessing Your Annual Giving Statement
To make it easy to claim donations on your taxes, Mightycause compiles a printer-friendly annual giving statement for all donors. Your statement is available year-round through your user account.
You will find your Giving Statement in the “Donation History” tab. It is a hyperlink that will take you to an itemized list you can use to claim monetary charitable donations on your taxes. To access the previous year’s giving statement, click the link. The link will take you to a page with a list of the previous year’s donations.
You’ll see the Mightycause Charitable Foundation’s information on the top-right corner of the page. Because donations filter through the Mightycause Foundation, which is a donor-advised fund, you will need to use the Mightycause Foundation’s information to claim these donations on your taxes. You can see the breakdown of the charity to which your donations were advised.
If you have any questions about your receipt, annual giving statement, or need assistance accessing any of these items, please contact the Mightycause support team at support@mightycause.com or call or 202.800.1618.
Mightycause is the technology platform that powers Give for Good Louisville. It is a mission-driven, employee-owned business that has served the nonprofit community by helping them with online fundraising and donor engagement since 2006. Mightycause has supported over 150,000 causes and has been the technology partner for hundreds of community-led Giving Days.
Donations made via the Give for Good Louisville platform are complete and final charitable gifts to Mightycause Charitable Foundation. The Mightycause Charitable Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code which maintains a donor-advised fund. A donor-advised fund (“DAF”) is defined by Congress as a public charity that receives completed gifts from donors while allowing them the privilege of advising on the distribution of their grant to other charities and charitable causes.
Any individual, business, foundation, or organization with a credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa), a computer or other mobile-enabled device (i.e., a computer, iPad, or smartphone), and access to the Internet may donate at GiveForGoodLouisville.org. PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are also accepted.
Also, donors who have a charitable fund at the Community Foundation of Louisville may submit a grant from their fund by selecting "Community Foundation of Louisville Fund" as their payment method upon donation check out. They can also email their fund information and grant distributions to grants@cflouisville.org before September 9 and our Philanthropic Services team will take care of the rest!
Donations through the Give for Good Louisville online portal to charitable organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded.
What types of donations are accepted?
Donations may be made online at GiveForGoodLouisville.org via credit and debit card, ACH transfer, Apple Pay, Venmo, PayPal, Google Pay, or through an existing charitable fund held at the Community Foundation of Louisville.
Participating organizations may accept gifts by check or cash and upload them onto the Giving Day platform. These will count towards the organization’s overall gift and donor totals but will not count towards prizes or leaderboards.
Also, donations made to participating organizations through social platforms such as Facebook will not count toward the Giving Day totals.
Give for Good Louisville is designed to generate new support, not to pay off existing pledges. Donations may not be used to pay for anything that might be perceived as a tangible benefit to the donor – including dinner tickets, membership fees, golf fees, admission tickets, or other gifts.
All gifts are tax-deductible, irrevocable, and for the unrestricted use of the nonprofits.
The minimum donation on GiveForGoodLouisville.org is $1. However, it is recommended that donors give at least $5 or more so that the credit card and platform fees do not exceed the donation itself.
For donors who are giving from their charitable funds at the Community Foundation of Louisville, the minimum donation is $100.
Is there a fee to donate?
Mightycause retains a 2% campaign management fee from all donations.
Please note that the Community Foundation of Louisville does not receive any of these fees and that 100% of donations are tax-deductible for the donor.
Donors may opt to cover the processing fees before completing their transaction. Data shows that 91% of donations were completely covered by donors during Give for Good Louisville in 2023, but this is ultimately up to the donor.
Any donations processed outside the Give for Good Louisville donation period or subsequent recurring gifts are subject to Mightycauses's 4% platform fee, 0.5% brand fee, and 2.9% + $0.30 credit card processing fee on all donations.
I’m not comfortable donating with my credit card, can I make a donation with cash or a check?
Mightycause is an online fundraising platform. With that said, we are only able to process payments through virtual options, including the following:
If none of these options are feasible for you, and you still prefer to donate with cash or check, you’ll need to contact the participating organization directly. From there, you can speak with the organization about ways to donate outside the Mightycause Platform.
Can I give to more than one organization?
Yes! For each transaction, you can select up to 300 organizations in your donation cart. Only organizations that have registered to participate may receive gifts through GiveForGoodLouisville.org.
Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit www.GiveForGoodLouisville.org on your mobile device to make a gift.
Can I make a monthly donation?
Yes! The recurring donation feature allows donors to make automated online donations to an organization on a regular basis. You can set this up during your payment process. This is a great way to support Kentuckiana organizations by guaranteeing financial support to them every month while also respecting your personal budget.
Can I decide how an organization should use my donation?
No. Give for Good Louisville gifts are considered unrestricted gifts to the organization, meaning that the organization may use your donation to address its most pressing needs.
Only the Giving Day Host, the Community Foundation of Louisville, and the organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future updates, and notify you of future activities.
You do have the option to make your donation and/or your name anonymously during Give for Good Louisville. Anonymous donations will be displayed as "Anonymous" on the organization's page. The organization will receive your name and email address, but they will be notified that you have chosen to remain publicly anonymous.
Is my donation safe and secure?
Yes! Mightycause is a secure site, and we are fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). We will never charge your card without authorization, share your information, or leave your payment information vulnerable.
Is my donation 100% tax-deductible?
Yes! Donations made on Mightycause are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Individuals are receipted for 100 percent of their donation, including if they covered the processing fee.
In individual user accounts, donors can find their annual giving statements for tax purposes within the donation history tab.
How will I be recognized as a donor?
In addition to receiving an immediate thank you email from the organization you donated to, you may choose to display your name upon checkout in a scrolling feature on your chosen organization's profile via GiveForGoodLouisville.org.
You can also decide to make an anonymous donation if you prefer. Anonymous donors will still receive a thank you message and receipt via email.
I didn’t mean for my name to show along with my donation! How can I hide it?
Don’t panic, Mightycause’s customer support team can hide your name from public view!
You can additionally make your donation anonymous yourself by following these steps:
Please note although we can hide your name from the donation timeline, the organizer will still be able to see your name. Email support@mightycause.com if you have any further questions.
When does my donation count towards a prize?
Gifts made online via GiveForGoodLouisville.org during both the early giving period (September 9 – 11) and on the Giving Day (September 12) will count towards the match pools and the Sam Swope Family Grand Prizes.
Gifts made online at GiveForGoodLouisville.org on September 12 will count towards all prizes.
Gifts made during the late giving period (Until 1 p.m. on September 13) at GiveForGoodLouisville.org will not count towards any prizes.
Offline gifts will not count towards any prizes or leaderboards.
A matching grant uploaded by the organization does not count towards a prize.
Why are there early and late giving periods?
The early and late giving periods give donors a second chance to donate when they otherwise would not have been able to or simply forgot. This year, early giving is from September 9 - 11, and late giving begins on September 13 and ends at 1 p.m. ET.
How will I get a tax receipt for my donations?
Upon checkout, you will receive an immediate thank you and receipt for your charitable contribution(s) via email, which you should print out for your tax purposes. By selecting a specific organization to receive your donation, your donation is restricted to that organization and will not be given to another organization. Your online donation made at GiveForGoodLouisville.org will be directly deposited to the organization following the giving day.
Why didn’t I receive an email receipt for my donation?
Mightycause automatically sends an email receipt when you make a donation, but there are several reasons why you may not see it in your inbox. Your email provider may have sent it to your junk mail folder, so be sure to check there. Gmail may have routed your receipt to your “Purchases” tab, so you should check there if you’re a Gmail user. If you were donating as a guest, a typo in your email address could cause you to not receive your receipt. We’re happy to resend your receipt — just email Mightycause at support@mightycause.com from the email address you used to complete your donation and we’ll make sure you get it.
Why is there a charge from “Mightycause” on my Credit Card?
Mightycause is an online fundraising platform used by nonprofit organizations and individuals to raise money for charitable causes. When you see a charge on your credit card for “*MCF*,” this is because you’ve made a donation to a charitable cause on Mightycause using that card.
When looking at your CC statement, "*MCF*" will be followed by the first six letters of the specific organization/fundraiser you donated, "*MCF*NonprofitName*"
You can find out what your donation was for and download a copy of your receipt by logging into your account and accessing your donation history on Mightycause.
Our friendly support staff is also happy to look up your donation and clarify to what fundraiser or nonprofit it was made. You can email our customer support team at support@mightycause.com or call 202.800.1618. The Mightycause support team is available year-round, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Please have the date of the transaction and the email address used to make the donation ready so that the MIghtycause support team can search for your donation.
Can I get a refund for a donation I made?
Mightycause enforces a no-refunds policy, mainly due to the immediacy of tax benefits. If you have a special circumstance, you can contact Mightycause at support@mightycause.com or 202.800.1618 to discuss it with one of Customer Support team members. The Mightycause support team is available year-round, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
I’m not in the United States. Can I still make a donation?
Yes, you can make a donation from outside of the United States! Mightycause is only able to process payments in U.S. dollars, so you will want to keep the exchange rate in mind when making an international donation. If you need to fill out your address (which may not be required based on the settings the fundraiser chooses), be sure to choose your country in the window when you’re asked to provide your address.
Donors from outside of the United States may get an error message with the reference code K-835, which means that the transaction has been flagged in our system. Any donors who get this error message should contact support@mightycause.com. Once this is complete we can then adjust our settings to allow their donations to go through.
I accidentally donated to the wrong page! Can you move my donation to the page I intended to donate to?
If your donation was made to the wrong organization, we are not able to move or alter a donation after it’s made. Charitable donations on Mightycause pass through the Mightycause Foundation, which is a donor-advised fund. When you make a donation to a page on Mightycause, you are “advising” them as to which charity you’d like for them to send your donation to, and altering that is not allowed.
If your donation was made to the wrong fundraising page for the same organization, please contact Mightycause at support@mightycause.com or 202.800.1618 and they will work with you to find a solution.
How do I know if my donation went through?
You will know that your donation was successfully processed because you’ll see a screen thanking you for your donation. You will also receive an email with your receipt for your donation.
Can I add a dedication after I make my donation?
Log in to the account you used to make your donation with at www.giveforgoodlouisville.org/login. Once you are logged in, click your name in the top right-hand corner. From here, choose 'Donation history.' All of your donations will be listed under "Donations History". You can select a specific time range to help find your donation easier, you can use a search bar, or you can simply scroll down through your donation history.
You'll be able to see the organization you donated to, the date of the transaction, the credit card used, and the donation amount. To add a dedication, click on the three-dot icon on the right-hand side and choose 'Manage.' This will pop up: Click the box next to 'Add a dedication to your donation,' add your dedication information, and click 'Save.' Your dedication information will be provided to the organization via their Donations Report.
Because organizations can remove and manipulate matches in real-time while they are live on the giving day site, donors would need to contact the organization directly to find out if their gift was matched.
Does a grant from my Community Foundation of Louisville fund count toward matches?
Yes! Gifts made by the Community Foundation of Louisville fundholders via GiveForGoodLouisville.org are labeled as ONLINE donations by the Mightycause platform. Since all matching grants created by organizations through the Mightycause platform are activated by online donations within the start/end time they set the match up to run, fundholders are able to join in on the gamification fun this year!
What are the different fundraising pages on Mightycause?
Here’s a quick breakdown of the different types of Mightycause pages and how they work:
Organization Page
An organization page is the hub of a nonprofit’s presence on GiveForGoodLouisville.org. This page is connected to a nonprofit’s EIN and is used for fundraising during Give for Good Louisville. Charitable fundraisers branch off from a nonprofit’s organization page on GiveForGoodLouisville.org, so fundraisers will need to pick which organization page to connect your fundraiser to when creating it.
Fundraiser Page
A fundraiser page is connected to an organization page — it’s best used for specific campaigns, projects, or funds, where you want to set a goal, timeline, and talk about your campaign’s purpose and goals. Anyone can with a Mightycause account can create a fundraiser for a nonprofit.
Team Pages
Teams bring individual fundraisers together on one page. Ideal for organizing a group of people fundraising toward a collective goal, Teams come with a leaderboard for tracking progress among members (and inspiring friendly competition).
Event Pages
Events give you all the tools you need to coordinate large-scale peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising campaigns involving multiple fundraising Teams, multiple solo fundraisers, or both. You also get tons of powerful, event-specific features designed for managing, monitoring, and maximizing impact. This feature is to not be confused with the "Opportunities" feature where organizations can add their in-person or virtual giving day and volunteer events specific to Give for Good Louisville.
The Community Foundation of Louisville utilizes the Mightycause technology platform to provide a user-friendly way for everyday philanthropists to rally support from their communities by fundraising for the causes that are important to them.
If the organization you’d like to raise money for has sent you a link to their Give for Good Louisville profile page, you can simply click “Fundraise” on their page next to the Donate button to create a fundraiser linked to their nonprofit. This is the easiest way to create a charitable fundraiser on GiveForGoodLouisville.org. Or you can search for participating organizations by their name, location, cause type, and more at GiveForGoodLouisville.org/search/. From there, click on the organization you're interested in fundraising for and follow the same steps by clicking on the "Fundraise" button on their Give for Good Louisville organization profile page.
Mightycause makes it easy to customize your Give for Good Louisville fundraiser page and attract donors to give to your favorite organization. In this support article, we’ll discuss how to make your fundraiser as strong as it can possibly be by going through some key tips and best practices.
How does the charity get the money I raise on GiveForGoodLouisville.org?
Funds are sent directly to the nonprofit organization. Donations made on GiveForGoodLouisville.org pass through the Mightycause Charitable Foundation, which is a donor-advised fund. The Mightycause Charitable Foundation takes care of sending the funds you raise to the nonprofit.
Here’s how it works: On the 10th and 25th of each month, the Mightycause Foundation batches together donations made on Mightycause and directly deposits the donations made to the nonprofit, minus fees. Donations made from the 1st through the 15th are deposited on the 25th. Donations made from the 16th through the last day of the month are deposited on the 10th of the following month. In order to receive funds on the 10th and the 25th, nonprofit organizations must opt-into/set up electronic funds transfer (EFT/direct deposit).
If the nonprofit has not set up direct deposit on the platform, disbursements are sent via check. Checks are disbursed once a month, around the 10th, to the legal mailing address listed in the IRS database. There is a $5 service fee per check deducted on the disbursement. Direct deposit does not have any incurred fees thus we highly recommend encouraging the nonprofit to set up EFT in order to avoid this fee.
You do not need to “release” the funds you raise. We’ve got this! The Mightycause Foundation disburses funds raised for nonprofits according to the schedule above. This means you do not need to contact us or do anything to send the funds to the nonprofit. We take care of all of it, automatically.
The nonprofit will be able to see which donations came from your fundraiser. Nonprofit organizations on GiveForGoodLouisville.org have access to a detailed donations report when they claim their page. This report identifies the source of the donation. Even though their disbursement batches together all donations made to their organization through GiveForGoodLouisville.org, they will be able to see which donations came through your page.
If you have any questions about how Mightycause disburses funds raised through a charitable fundraiser, contact us at support@mightycause.com.
Once you have created your fundraising page, you'll notice that the "Donate" button is inactive and greyed out. To share your fundraising page and have your donate button active, you must click on the "Publish" button located on the left side of your fundraiser dashboard.
Before publishing your page, make sure you have filled out your fundraiser title, composed a brief description, uploaded an image/video, and finalized your thank you message. To learn more about setting up your individual fundraising page, view this helpful support article.
How do I update the metrics on my fundraising page?
The metrics displayed on your fundraising page are based on the Metrics Calculation Date set in your Fundraiser Settings. To update this date, please follow the instructions below:
Are there any fees associated to a fundraising page?
One of the key benefits for organizations participating in Give for Good Louisville is accessing fundraising tools for free (such as peer to peer fundraising and setting up matching grants). As such, organizations that are registered to participate in the giving day do not pay additional fees for peer to peer fundraising or match functionalities
How do I access my fundraiser's donation report?
To access your fundraiser's donation report, head over to your fundraising page. Make sure that you are logged in with the email address used to create the fundraiser.
Once you are logged in and on the page, on the left-hand side dashboard select "Donations." You’ll see an abbreviated report of everyone who has donated to your fundraiser. This report will show the last 30 days by default, but you can set the date range for whatever dates you’d like. You can see who donated, how much and when, whether the donation is recurring, and whether the donation was an offline donation. You can also see donors’ comments and email addresses.
This report can be exported as a spreadsheet and uploaded into any CRM, donor database or email program you use to manage your contacts. To download, click on the cloud icon with a downward facing arrow.
From the donation report, you can additionally resend receipts to your donors. Find the donation you'd like to send a receipt for, click the 3 dot menu to the right of the donation, and choose 'Resend Receipt.' A popup will come up on your screen, here you can confirm the donor's email, or update the email, and then choose 'Send.'
If you have any further questions, please reach out to support@mightycause.com.
How can I include checks and cash my charitable fundraiser received?
Fundraising takes many forms. We understand that you may receive checks or cash to count towards your fundraiser’s goal, too. While Mightycause does not process these donations, we can help you display them in your fundraiser total.
For this reason, you can use the Offline Donations feature on your fundraising page. Please note: This is simply to act as a display feature. These funds are not processed through Mightycause.
Adding an offline donation
To add an offline donation, go to your fundraising page and select the 'Donations' option on your left side dashboard. This will open up your donation report for your fundraiser. In the top right-hand corner, click the button that says 'Add offline donation.' The offline donation input box will appear. You will be able to enter key information such as the donor name, email address, the source (i.e. cash, check, corporate, match, etc.), and notes about the donation. The information provided will be viewable in the downloaded offline donations report. Be sure to click “Complete Donation” to add it to your display!
Please note, if you would like your offline donation to show on your fundraiser page, be sure the date entered for the offline gift is after the metrics calculation start date for your fundraiser. We suggest listing the actual gift date in the Notes section. This way, the donation will be displayed on your page, and the gift information will be held in your donation reports. The offline donation will be added to your fundraiser’s display thermometer and donor timeline for supporters to see.
Editing/Removing an Offline Donation
It’s not possible to edit an offline donation. But that’s OK! You can just delete the old one and add a new one in its place.
To delete an offline donation, go back to 'Donations' on the left-hand dashboard. Here, you can then find the donation you'd like to delete in your donations report. Click the 3 dot menu to the right of the donation and then choose 'Delete.' Then, just add a new offline donation with the amended information by following the steps above.
Still, having trouble? Contact the Mightycause support team at support@mightycause.com for more help!
Can I change the organizer of my charitable fundraising page?
Yes! To remove yourself as the organizer of your charitable fundraising page and replace yourself with another individual, please go to "Settings" on your fundraising page. Once on "Fundraiser Settings" scroll to the very bottom until you hit "Change Fundraiser Owner." In the text box, add in the email address of the new organizer and select "Continue." A popup will open up asking you to confirm this change.
Please note, after updating the organizer of the page, you will no longer have administrative access to the fundraising page.
Once you've selected "Yep, I'm Sure" the new owner of the page will receive a confirmation email.
If you have any additional questions, please contact support@mightycause.com.
Your individual fundraising page has tools to share your fundraiser embedded right under the donate button called 'Share this page.'
When you click the Facebook button, Mightycause will generate a Facebook post with a link to your Give for Good Louisville fundraiser page and a preview of its content. Using this tool, you can easily post appeals to donate to your page and updates on your fundraiser’s progress.
Next, there’s the X (formerly Twitter) sharing option. The coolest thing about the X-sharing tool on Mightycause is that it generates a shortened, X-friendly link to your page, so there’s no need to use tools like Bitly or Google URL Shortener to stay within your 280-character limit! You can change the text just by typing it into the box. Mightycause is automatically tagged, so if we like your tweet and want to help spread the word about your fundraiser, we might retweet you!
Lastly, Mightycause makes it easy to reach out to people you want to support you via email. When you click the email icon, Mightycause will open up your operating system’s default email program and autofill an email with a link to your page and a short message. You can add the address of someone you’d like to reach out to personally about your fundraiser, or add several contacts. You’ll need to take a minute to personalize it, but this can be an incredibly helpful tool if you’re not sure what to write in an email about your fundraiser! (Please note that this icon will open up your operating system’s default email program — on a Mac, it’ll open up Mail, and on Windows, it’ll open up Outlook. If you use a web-based email service like Gmail, you’ll need to log into your account and then copy-paste the email into a new email.)
Social media can be a great way to spread the word about your fundraiser and raise money for your cause. Here a few tips to help your fundraiser gain momentum:
Can I add a donate button on Facebook for my Give for Good Louisville fundraiser?
While we recommend promoting your Give for Good Louisville fundraiser across your social channels, we do not recommend “adding a donate button” or “creating a fundraiser” with Facebook for the giving day. Using the ‘donate’ button through Facebook does NOT link to your fundraiser page on GiveForGoodLouisville.org and does not count toward your chosen organization’s Give for Good Louisville fundraising totals or goals.
Additionally, we cannot track donations made through Facebook, and they do not count toward the Give for Good Louisville campaign for prizes, incentives, and matches.
When you use the matching grants tool to add a match to your fundraiser page, only donations to your fundraiser will count toward the match.
To add a matching grant to your fundraiser, login into your account at GiveForGoodLouisville.org and go to the fundraising page to which you’d like to add the match. On your left-hand side dashboard select 'Fundraising Tools' and then 'Matching Grants.'
When you click “Matching Grants,” you’ll end up on your matching grants dashboard. Click on the button in the top right hand corner that says '+ Create.' Then, you’ll need to enter the details of your grant.

How do I wrap up my fundraiser?
You’ve created your Give for Good Louisville fundraiser page, worked hard to raise money for your charitable organization of choice on September 12, and now your Giving Day fundraiser is over. Now what?
Ending the Fundraiser - We recommend ending your fundraiser at the end of the giving day (11:59 p.m. ET on September 12). After you set your end date, there’s nothing you need to do to end your fundraiser.
Releasing Funds - You don’t need to do anything to release the funds you raised during your fundraiser to the organization — Mightycause takes care of that for you! If the organization you are fundraising for during Give for Good Louisville set up direct deposit, funds will be automatically sent around the 10th and 25th of each month. If the organization has yet to set up direct deposit, no worries! Mightycause will automatically send a check to every nonprofit organization that has raised money on Mightycause on the 10th of each month.
If you fell a little short of your fundraising goal, no problem! Mightycause doesn’t hold funds until you meet your goal or penalize you for not raising your goal, so the nonprofit organization you raised funds for will get the money either way, guaranteed.
Disabling Your Fundraising Page - At this time, you have two options if you would like to disable your fundraising page:
Odds are that if you aren’t actively sharing your page with family and friends, very few people (if any) will find it on their own, so you shouldn’t worry too much about disabling your giving day fundraising page. This support article will take you step by step as to how to disable your page.
Thanking Your Donors - Even if your giving day fundraiser has ended, you aren’t truly done until you thank your donors for helping your fundraiser become so successful! You can send them a personalized email, call them on the phone to thank them for their contribution, or even write a handwritten thank you card. Make sure you acknowledge your donors’ generous contributions to ensure that the next time you raise money for charity on GiveForGoodLouisville.org, these donors will be inspired to help you again!
Follow up With the Participating Organization - If the organization you chose to support wasn’t already aware of your fundraiser, make sure you reach out to them to let them know how much raised for them! Give them the chance to thank you for contributing to their cause.

If you are interested in participating in a peer-to-peer fundraising team, you can go directly to the team page and select "Join Team." You will then be prompted to set up a user account on Mightycause.
After you have logged in, a popup will appear, prompting you to "Start a Fundraiser." Select "Get Started." Once you have selected "Get Started", you will be prompted to begin building your page. After you select "Build Your Fundraiser," a new individual fundraising page will be populated.
For any additional information on how to complete your fundraising page, please review this support article.
Group Giving is a tool on GiveForGoodLouisville.org for employee giving or any group of individuals who want to come together to support charitable causes. Service and volunteer organizations like Rotary Clubs can also use the tool.
Group Giving allows you to create a central page where members of the group can easily find and make donations to charitable organizations. And you can even set up matching grants to help drive donations!
Set up your group giving page here before September 12.
Please note: This tool cannot be used by charitable organizations wishing to participate in Give for Good Louisville, as they need to go through the registration process and be approved to participate.
The pencil icons on your Group Giving page as well as the left-hand side dashboard will provide all of the editing tools for your page. The "Page Editor" section of your dashboard will open up an editing menu to guide you through the most important features of the page to complete including the page title, group logo, theme color, funding goal, featured causes, group story, and page metrics.
For additional information about customizing your Group Giving page, view this support article.
The 'Reports' section of your dashboard will also include an area called 'Matching Grants.'
The "Match Manager" is a display and reporting tool for any matching grants your organization receives.
Say for example, your company is willing to match employee donations up to $5,000 during Give for Good Louisville, this feature will allow you to add a matching grant to your group giving page to display and track this incentive. Learn more about setting up a matching grant here.
Social Sharing - Customize the image and text social media networks use when someone shares your page.
Custom URL - When you create your page, your page will automatically be given a URL beginning with www.giveforgoodlouisville.org/group/[insert custom name]. The custom part begins as a boring series of letters and numbers but you can jazz things up and make your page more memorable, customized, and shareable by giving it a Custom URL. Keep it short and obviously make sure it’s relevant to your page. Copy/paste that URL and share it out with your networks!
Discoverability - Turning off Discoverability will hide your group giving page so only supporters with a direct link can access your page, and it won’t show up in our Search.
Visitor Redirect - If your page is no longer relevant or active and you'd like to point visitors to a newer page instead, you can use this feature to display a redirect suggestion to all visitors. To do so, simply add in the new url within the text-box.
If there are additional individuals you would like to add as administrators to your page, you can simply add those individuals by selecting the plus icon (+) below the "Group Admins" area.
