A nonprofit organization

$29,188 raised by 49 donors

The Cabbage Patch is a local nonprofit empowering children, youth, and families to reach their full potential since 1910. "The Patch," as it's affectionately known, is named after the section of Old Louisville where it was founded by Louise Marshall, a determined young woman who dedicated her life to its service.

Our mission is to provide life-changing academic, recreational, and mentoring opportunities through Christ-centered values. We also strive to establish deep relationships and promote family stability. Today, The Patch:

  • Provides after-school educational and recreational programming to Louisville youth (ages 8-18).
  • Serves around 40 graduated members through the College Scholars Program, providing guidance and financial support to students pursuing higher education or a trade.
  • Supports families with immediate assistance and long-term case management services, as needed.
  • Removes barriers to build a sense of community, purpose, and belonging for people who need it most.
