Since September 1883, Family & Children’s Place has been transforming hurt into hope for children and families across Louisville and Southern Indiana. As we celebrate our 143rd year of service, we honor a legacy of protecting children, strengthening families, and building healthier communities.

Every day, families turn to Family & Children’s Place for prevention, intervention, and healing. Through our programs, children and caregivers find safety, support, and the tools they need to thrive.

• HANDS is a voluntary home visitation program that partners with expectant and new parents to create safe, nurturing environments where children can grow and flourish.

• Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education and family support services for children from birth to age five, helping build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and school success.

• School-Based Services promote student well-being and academic achievement through prevention education, family engagement, and support services that empower young people and strengthen communities.

• The Children’s Advocacy Center, Kentucky’s largest CAC and the only one co-located with law enforcement and child protective services, brings together a multidisciplinary team to coordinate the investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases while ensuring children remain safe, supported, and at the center of the process.

• Visitation & Parenting Services provide supervised visitation, parenting assessments, and skill-building opportunities that foster healthy family relationships and support reunification whenever possible.

For more than a century, Family & Children’s Place has stood beside children and families during some of life's most difficult moments.
