Tyson’s Chance Animal Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue based in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Our primary focus is the rescue of special needs animals.
Our founder Ashley Shelburne saw the need for a group that would help the harder to adopt animals. She was a trainer and ran a boarding facility and doggy daycare so she began to help many homeless animals through her business and before long, with several likeminded people, Tyson’s Chance was formed.
Our beloved mascot Tyson. A volunteer at the local shelter asked Ashley to take a dog in for training. They saw something special in him and felt Ashley could help him become the incredible dog he was meant to be. That is how we met Tyson and the rest, as they say, is history! At Tyson’s Chance Animal Foundation, we strive for all animals to find the same happiness that Tyson did. He inspired us all!
Over the years, TCAF has impacted the lives of thousands of animals. We have saved those who spent life on a chain, had been shot on purpose, were starved or abused, experienced severe medical trauma or illness; the ones who have been discarded for being old or just being a dog. At TC they learn what it is to be safe and loved.
A growing percentage of our animals are hospice cases who have been surrendered or abandoned in public shelters. Their time with us may not be long but they cross the Rainbow Bridge knowing they are completely safe and loved.
Currently a majority of our adoptable animals are seniors, medical cases, and those with social or behavioral issues. We love to heal the sick, rehabilitate the misunderstood, and provide safe haven for those in their golden years.
Tyson's Chance Animal Foundation rescues all sizes, breeds, ages and temperaments of dogs and cats.
