Why Nerd Louisville?

Nerd Louisville works at the center of an active and vibrant nerd community spread across the Louisville metro area. We support individuals and groups as they achieve their nerdy dreams, in doing so we weave together hobbyists, craftspeople, and interested others into a closer community. Nerd Louisville creates engaging events and happenings that make it easier for people to connect, play games, and become friends. Since our inception over a decade ago, we have fostered a strong and interconnected community through events for youth, women, and other groups traditionally underrepresented in tabletop gaming, established an annual tabletop gaming convention, and developed a charitable initiative to support disadvantaged youth.

Vision

From tabletop games to the creative arts and everything in between, the Louisville metro area is home to a multitude of safe and inclusive spaces that support nerdy hobbies, livelihoods, and personal expressions. 

Our Mission

Nerd Louisville’s mission is to make the Louisville metro area the most inclusive and awesome nerd city in the universe. We do that by:

• Fostering a sense of community through events and gatherings.

• Advancing community inclusion so that no one is left out.

• Providing a virtual hub to connect local nerds to events and opportunities.

• Educating, inspiring, and empowering local youth through charitable work.

• Promoting the Louisville area as a nerd destination to visitors from out-of-town.

• Young Questors: an inclusive, free gaming event for youth ages 8 -18 and their parents. 
• Girls Nerd Out: a safe space for women, girls, ladies, and all who identify to game and socialize together.
• Tavern Talks: a community of practice for Louisville's gamemasters to help improve their craft.
• Friday Night Games: open, family-friendly gaming on Friday nights.
• Slur Your Role: running for a decade now, our flagship community event on Sunday nights.
• NerdLouvia: our annual multi-day gaming convention and fundraiser.
