Who We Are

Established in 1880, Home of the Innocents has grown over the years to operate from a 22-acre campus in Louisville. Our mission is to enrich the lives of children and families with hope, health, and happiness. We work to strengthen Kentucky by building partnerships, challenging systems, and reimagining the way we care for families. Our commitment to learning drives our belief in family-focused care. Our Services

• Residential Treatment & Emergency Shelter
  We care for children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, and neglect by providing them with shelter and treatment.
• Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center
  Maintaining 76 beds, we are the only place in the region exclusively dedicated to the long-term, skilled nursing needs of children with medically complex conditions.
• Behavioral Health Services
  We provide behavioral and mental health care, as well as support, to children and families through multiple community-based services, including therapeutic foster care and adoption, parenting classes, aid for young adults experiencing homelessness, and more.
